The Annual Meeting of Corporators of Charles River Bancorp, MHC – the mutual holding company of Charles River Bank – was held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Franklin Country Club.
Corporators and Trustees voted to elect Patrick R. McSweeney, MD a Trustee of Charles River Bancorp, MHC. As a Trustee, Dr. McSweeney will also serve as a Director of Charles River Bank. Paula Cassidy and Derek Plourde were also re-elected Trustees.
Charles River Bank President & CEO Plourde stated, “Pat provides a unique perspective to our Board of Directors. He brings extensive leadership experience with one of the largest successful medical practices that serves our region. He is familiar with our community and understands the needs of local residents, especially since he grew up here and operated his medical office in Medway where he has cared for thousands of patients over the years. We are fortunate to have him as a Trustee and Director.”
Dr. McSweeney joined Milford Regional Physician Group (formerly known as Tri-County Medical Associates) in 2000 as a Family Medicine physician. He moved to the role of Medical Director from 2003 to 2016, and then took on the role of President in 2019. Milford Regional Physician Group employs over 130 physicians, 85 advanced practice practitioners and 650 employees in 43 outpatient locations. He is responsible for leadership, strategic planning, growth and development of the group. Dr. McSweeney has been an active member of the senior management team for the Milford Regional Healthcare System and stepped in to serve as Interim President & CEO of Milford Regional Medical Center from July to September 2024.
Dr. McSweeney graduated Cum Laude with a B.S in Biology from Providence College, and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. His Residency was through Brown University Family Medicine Program at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. Dr. McSweeney grew up in Medway and is now a resident of Wrentham. He has served as an Advisory Board Member of Charles River Bank since 2009.
