Scholarship Program

Each year the Charles River Bank Scholarship Program awards four, $500 scholarships to local students.

About the Program

One scholarship will be awarded to a student from each of these high schools serving the towns in which we operate branches: Medway High School, Bellingham High School, and Nipmuc Regional High School. One additional winner will be selected from ANY high school, including voc/tech, agricultural, or other private high schools.

Scholarship is paid after the student provides verification of successful completion of the first semester of college along with proof of registration for the second semester. Send this required documentation to: Charles River Bank, Scholarship Program, PO Box 740, Medway, MA 02053

Application Criteria

Applications must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicant (or their parent/guardian/grandparent) must be a current customer of Charles River Bank.
  • Applicant must be a graduating high school senior who is enrolled in an undergraduate college degree program during the 2025-2026 academic year.
  • Applicant must submit a complete Charles River Bank Scholarship Program Application.
  • Applicant must submit an academic transcript of their grades.
  • Applicant must provide a thoughtful response to the following questions:
    • During your HS years, did you participate in any financial literacy or personal finance education programs? If so, what did you find most valuable? What things related to financial literacy or your personal financial management do you wish you knew more about before you head to college? What types of services are you looking for from your bank, credit union or other financial institution?

Selection Process

Selection of the winner(s) will be made by the Charles River Bank Scholarship Committee. Applications will be evaluated on the following criteria (total potential points 100):

  • Written response to questions will receive up to a maximum of 50 points
  • Grades will receive up to a maximum of 25 points
  • Extracurricular/community service activities will receive up to a maximum of 25 points

Applications will be accepted from March 1st until May 1st.
