Achieving 30 years of longevity is a milestone for any business today. But when your business has enjoyed continued success in the ever-changing and uncertain world of real estate construction it’s even more impressive. Loretta and Henry Arnaudo, owners of HPA Design of Milford, a firm that offers a complete range of residential and commercial architectural design services, have built their long-term business on exceptional designs and integrity.
“Architects are by nature artistic, but the plans we produce are used to create buildings. We’ve found that by providing plans that are detailed, accurate, and easy to understand, we have really differentiated and built our business,” said Henry Arnaudo, Principal of HPA Design.
It’s this attention to plan details that has helped HPA build strong relationships with town planners, builders, lumber yards, and other contractors who have become strong sources of referrals. They’ve often told us that they’ve never seen plans like ours. In fact, many towns use our plans as the standard, “said Henry Arnaudo. The strong relationships the firm has built is why 95% of the company’s business is generated through referrals.
Yet despite HPA’s strong growth and referral base, the Arnaudo’s are selective about the clients with whom they work. “We interview all our potential clients and ask lots of questions to ensure we are a good fit for their needs. We really believe success is a two-way street.”
That philosophy was why the Arnaudo’s chose Charles River Bank when they sought to relocate their business to Milford, MA. “We were renting at our previous location in Wrentham, and wanted to find a property to buy and renovate. Our accountant told us about Charles River Bank and Sean Coyle,” said Loretta Arnaudo, Director of HPA Design.
New to the process of purchasing commercial real estate, the Arnaudo’s required guidance. “We were constantly calling Sean to ask questions. He never made us feel as though we were pestering him. In fact, he would often invite us to come and see him. He just always made time to answer our questions and to understand our business,” said Loretta Arnaudo.
“We’re a little old fashioned. We know technology has a place, but we are big believers in having personal discussions. That’s what we like about Charles River. They think the same way we do,” said Henry.
The Arnaudo’s have been impressed by the personal service they’ve received in the branches as well, something to which they were not accustomed. “We noticed it was different right away. We see the same people every day, which didn’t happen at our previous bank,” said Loretta. “We weren’t even with Charles River very long, but everyone seemed to know our names. It just feels like home.
