Clint McHoul CFP®, VP/Director of Financial Services at Charles River Bank in Medway, MA has been authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board) to use the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and CFP® certification marks in accordance with CFP Board certification and renewal requirements. Mr. McHoul joined Charles River Bank in 2017 with more than 10 years of experience working with clients providing expertise with their retirement planning, education funding, business continuity planning, investments and insurance.

Charles River Bank (CRB) is proud to announce the addition of Sean Coyle as Assistant Vice President/Commercial Loan Officer. In his new position, Coyle will develop new relationships and expand existing relationships with CRB’s business customers by identifying their business goals and providing solutions to reach those objectives. Offering commercial lending programs including Commercial Real Estate Lending, Asset and Equipment Financing, Lines of Credit and SBA loans is his focus.

Coyle has fifteen years of experience in the financial services industry including Commercial Lending, Business Development, and Branch Management. Prior to joining Charles River Bank, he worked at Main Street Bank as an Assistant Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager. Preceding his tenure at Main Street Bank, he also held various positions at Milford National Bank, Commerce Bank, Strata Bank and Citizens Bank.

Coyle lives in Bellingham with his wife of 13 years, Brooke, and his twin 11 year olds, Liam and Keara. He is credit trained by Credit Training, Inc. in Westborough and attended The New England School for Financial Studies at the Babson Executive Center. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, reading and supporting the local community. Presently, Coyle is the Treasurer for the Westborough Rotary Club and on the Board of Directors for both the Westborough Public Library Foundation and Six Degrees Networking.

Charles River Bank Hires New Medway Market Manager

Assistant Vice President/Medway Market Manager Tonia Marin

Charles River Bank is proud to announce the addition of Tonia Marin, Assistant Vice President/Medway Market Manger to the Medway Office. In her new role, Marin will focus on providing customized banking solutions. She is responsible for deepening existing customer relationships as well as establishing new commercial and retail banking relationships. Marin will serve as a coach and leader for Charles River Bank’s Main Office retail banking team.

Marin is a native of Florida and lived in Ohio for 10 years before moving to Medway 14 years ago with her husband and two children. She brings with her two decades of experience in the banking and financial services industries. At Bank of America, Marin most recently was Relationship Manager in the Medway office and previously held the position of Vice President, Branch Manager & Small Business Coordinator in the Medfield office. While living in Ohio, she held Branch Manager/AVP positions at National City Bank and Bank One. Marin began her career at Prudential Securities after graduating from Stetson University in Florida with a B.B.A. in Finance and Corporate Financial Management. In her free time, she likes to hike, spend time with family and ride trails with the two horses she owns.

Charles River Bank (CRB) is proud to announce the addition of Clinton McHoul as Vice President/Director of Financial Services. McHoul provides his clients with expertise in retirement planning, education funding, business continuity planning, investments and insurance. He will cultivate new relationships and deepen existing relationships with CRB’s clients by identifying financial objectives, developing plans and delivering comprehensive solutions to realize those goals. He will work in coordination with his client’s trusted advisors, such as their attorney and CPA, to develop dynamic strategies for individuals and businesses.

McHoul has more than a decade of experience as a Financial Advisor. Prior to joining Charles River Bank, he worked in the Medfield and Medway offices for Merrill Lynch/Bank of America. McHoul joined Merrill Lynch in 2008. Previously, he was a Financial Advisor for Edward D. Jones, Co.

McHoul grew up in North Attleboro and earned his B.S. in Business Administration, majoring in Economics, at Oklahoma State University. He is one of six children and has 26 nieces and nephews. He currently lives in Foxboro with his fiancée, Tricia. He enjoys cooking, gardening and outdoor activities.

Peterson and Broyles elected Assistant Vice Presidents At Charles River Bank

Charles River Bank announced on Thursday, December 8th that two of their employees have been elected Assistant Vice Presidents by the Board of Directors. Laura Peterson was elected to AVP/Information Systems Manager and Suzanne Broyles was elected to AVP/Compliance Director.

In her new role, Peterson is responsible for maintaining a secure network environment for the bank, implementing new Information Technology policies and procedures and maintaining vendor management where she will verify that CRB’s vendor partners exceed the strict financial, security and technology requirements expected by the bank and its regulators.

Peterson graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Economics. She then received her Master of Business Administration degree from Babson College. She began her career in banking during high school and joined Charles River Bank in 2004, bringing with her years of experience in both banking and technology. Peterson joined the IT team when it was first created and has since been an integral part of the department’s success. She currently resides in Franklin, MA with her husband and two sons.

With ever increasing industry regulations, a new position was created for Broyles to ensure compliance standards are constantly followed. She will be responsible for strengthening Charles River Bank’s compliance program, conducting regulatory research and focusing on interpretation of regulatory risks. Broyles will also be monitoring internal controls reporting and audit scheduling.

Broyles attended Bryant University for her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and received her Master of Public Administration degree from Suffolk University. She has over 10 years of banking experience including knowledge in underwriting, servicing, collections, internal auditing and compliance. Broyles joined Charles River Bank in 2012 as the internal auditor and has recently earned certifications from the Independent Community Bankers of America including Certified Community Bank Internal Auditor as well as Certified BSA/AML Professional. She resides in Franklin, MA with her husband and three children.

Charles River Bank Holds Annual Dinner at Lake Pearl in Wrentham

Charles River Bank recently held its annual dinner meeting at Lake Pearl Function Facility in Wrentham, MA. Chairman of the Board Robert J. Parrella welcomed Charles River Bank staff, directors, honorary directors and invited guests. During the meeting, President & CEO Jack Hamilton announced that he was celebrating his 40th year in the banking industry as well as his 15th year with Charles River Bank. Over the course of the meeting, Jack went into detail about the successes of the bank over the past year as well as some challenges that the bank has effectively overcome. One of the more exciting updates was that the mortgage department originated more than $33 million in loans this year and the commercial loan department originated more than $15.4 million in loans. President Hamilton also announced that the bank’s asset value has increased this year to over $230 million.

Chairman Parrella later joined President Hamilton to commend the achievements of staff at Charles River Bank. They presented 5-year Service Awards to Assistant Vice President of Administration Charlene Hebert and Assistant Vice President & Controller Lisa Forman. The 10-year Service Award recipient was Assistant Vice President & Bellingham Branch Officer Michael Tuite. The recipients of the 15-year Service Award were Senior Vice President of IT & Compliance Sue Rovedo and President & CEO Jack Hamilton. For the first time in the history of Charles River Bank, a 25-year Service Award was presented to Deposit Operations Support Specialist Laurie O’Rourke.

Two team members, Vice President & Commercial Lending Officer Peter Rizzo and Bellingham Assistant Branch Manager Tara Crivello, earned the honor of being named recipients of the President’s Award.

“I am extremely pleased with Charles River Bank’s performance in the past year. With the unwavering support of our employees and directors, this has been one of our best years yet. Our Annual Dinner is a

great way to recognize the triumphs of our company and recognize those who contribute to our success,” stated Hamilton.

Charles River Bank Student Tellers Compete in Massachusetts School Banking Association Competition

This April more than 360 students from 29 High Schools across the Commonwealth gathered at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for the Massachusetts School Bank Association (MSBA) Annual Spring Conference. The MSBA members represent the community banks and local high schools that operate educational branch offices. Charles River Bank (CRB) is a MSBA member and operates one of these full-service branches in Medway High School with 15 student tellers.

Students from each MSBA member school form three teams to compete in the following categories: The Bank Bowl, Marketing, and Product Development. The Bank Bowl is a multi- round, Jeopardy-like game show where teams test their knowledge of banking regulations, products and services. Teams competing in Marketing are all given the same product or service topic the morning they they arrive at the MSBA Spring Conference and must come up with a marketing campaign within an hour using limited supplies provided, then present their marketing campaign to the judges. The Product Development team is given a specific topic approximately one month before the conference, then must do extensive work to develop a new product or service package and create a complete targeted marketing campaign. They must deliver a professional presentation the day of the Conference. Judges are industry professionals from the Federal Reserve Bank and financial institutions throughout the state.

The Charles River Bank/Medway High School team of Student Tellers, including Sarah O’Connor, Ashley Paturzo, Olivia Moores, and Dana Dumouchel, was named Conference Champions when they earned 1st Place in Product Development. This year’s Product Development topic was Credit and Banking Basics. The CRB team presentation included writing and performing a Rap song that memorably explained the difference between debit and credit cards that would be delivered during a student assembly. They also created student focused communication pieces and handouts explaining the different types of cards available, how to save and spend money wisely, and how to budget. A slightly different version of these materials was created for parents to use during ongoing discussions with their high school age children.

The CRB/MHS Student Tellers also had a great showing, by placing 4th in the Marketing Competition. Additionally, Cameron Martin who individually entered the MSBA essay contest, was selected as the 1st place winner and was awarded $100.

Joan Gavini-Campbell, supervisor of Charles River Bank’s Medway High School branch, said, “I am so proud of my tellers! They were prepared, professional and impressed so many people here today.”

The Medway High office of Charles River Bank is located in the Main Lobby of the school. Each year the CRB School Banking Supervisor selects up to 15 students from approximately 45 interested juniors and seniors. These Student Tellers get hands on experience operating a bank branch, providing customer service, processing bank transactions, handling new account and addressing service inquiries. They also gain an understanding of banking regulations, products and services.

Charles River Bank competed this year with 13 student bankers: Seth Coppinger, Brian Culcasi, Andrew Diebus, Cameron Martin, Luc Lafayette, Connor Jackson and Aidan Brueckner, Olivia Moores, Ashley Paturzo, Jacyln Dunne, Jenna Prutsalis, Sarah O’Connor and Dana Dumouchel.
